The challenge
Arabic is written from right to left and its letters change shape depending on the letters around them. A UI that was built for English needs more than translated strings. Text has to be shaped and joined correctly, layouts have to read in the right direction, and mixed content such as names and numbers has to keep the correct reading order.
On a franchise of this size the work also has to fit an established production. That means respecting the existing UI architecture, working in a large Perforce codebase alongside a professional team, and shipping changes that hold up at production scale.
What I built
- Production Arabic RTL localization work for Football Manager 2026
- Implementation in C# with Unity UI Toolkit
- Delivery inside a large scale Perforce pipeline as part of the Sports Interactive team
Results
- Arabic RTL work shipped as part of Football Manager 2026, a franchise shipped to 2M+ players worldwide
- Hands on experience bringing Arabic RTL to a large scale Unity production
Details beyond this summary are not public. Happy to talk through the general approach on a call.
